A secret walk to the Vasari Corridor in Florence, near our hotel
The Vasari Corridor is probably one of the most charming and mysterious attractions in Florence, although difficult to think that others are not, a walk that secretly links the Uffizi Gallery to Palazzo Pitti.
A 5 minute walks from our 5-star hotel in
Florence, a corridor of almost hidden art, which extends for about 1 km through the most significant places of the historical city centre. It lets you almost tiptoe, seeing that moving on the walk you slip by unnoticed in higher position than the passers-by.
This is probably one of the reasons that led this path to be built, which allowed the Medici to move without mingling with people and above all without being noticed.
The Vasari Corridor is home to numerous paintings that represent the highest art of painting from the fifteenth to the seventeenth century, and it preserves artefacts from different parts of the world, particularly evocative portraits of the authors of the time are well positioned here.
A walk through art, then, which is reserved to a limited number of people at a time, in fact the size of the passage does not allow the presence of a great number of visitors. The openings are very impressive between the walls that occasionally allow you to see the streets of the historical centre of Florence under your feet; in particular at the height of the Ponte Vecchio you can admire a beautiful view from the rose windows that overlook the Arno.
After this, you continue towards the Santa Felicita Church, reaching a window and a balcony looking directly into the sacred building, which allowed the Medici to attend mass undisturbed. The tour ends at the Buontalenti Grotto in the Boboli Gardens.
Be pampered by the services of our luxury hotel in Florence, as well as being a short walk from the main attractions of the city, it can give you the well-being of our Spa, for a stay for true gentlemen.
