The city of Florence is defined today still the crib of the Renaissance, a movement that is born in the first 30/40 years of 1400, and that well soon, thanks also to the move of artists it spreads in the other Italian and European courts. During the Renaissance Firenze it knows a moment of extraordinary cultural development. Still today in fact one are considered of the most beautiful cities to the world with a cultural artistic patrimony without equal.
Stozzi Palace celebrates this extraordinary cultural period, having entertained since March 23 to August 18 th 2013 the show "The spring of the Renaissance. The Sculpture and the arts in Florence 1400-1460" , and the Golden Tower Hotel & Spa provides free entrance tickets to our Guests.
The monumental public sculpture of artists what Donatello, Michelozzo, etc Ghibertis are the first and taller testimony of this exaltation of Florence and his/her protagonists. Since the years Winds the new conceptions of sculpture are underlined in the extraordinary production of reliefs (in marble, plaster and terracotta) commissioned for private devotions, over that destined to embellish the most important churches citizens.
The objective of the show is that to tell the "miracle of the Renaissance" to Florence above all through works of sculpture.
In that period the Florentine Republic lives a great period of great economic power and social peace, ideal context for the birth and the development of a new language that I cross the sculpture wants to express the spiritual and intellectual climate of the city.
