The famous Richard Ginori store has been located on the ground floor of Palazzo Ginori since 1802. Carlo Lorenini, better known as Colodi - author of Pinocchio, "the timeless story of the wooden puppet that became a real boy" - grew up in this palazzo as the child of the Marchese Ginori's cook and maid. A plaque on the façade commemmorates this famous former "resident". The store has a wide range of items made by the Manifattura di Doccia, that was founded by Marchese Ginori in 1735. In 1896 Carlo Benedetto Ginori mergedhis firm with Richard, creating the company that is know through out the world for its elegant wares. Over the years the store has expanded to include other fine, medium - high end brands.
