Epifanio Marchiani founded his business in a large warehouse on Via Maggio in 1880. There he did intarsia, purfling and veneer in fine and exotic woods imported directly from Brazil, Borneo and France. At the end of World War II, his sons Alberto and Augusto moved the shop to the former stables of Palazzo Guicciardini on Via Santo Spirito. To keep this century-old family tradition alive, the current owner Leonardo Romanelli has devoted himself, with a creative, passionate spirit to making frames for paintings and prints with an interesting variety of mats.
