In merit to this extraordinary collection, composed of over 500 samples is without doubt the passion to minerals no other then to the founder of this collection Alberto Giazotto partical physcist. Giazotto has remained astonished by the magic of the crystals and over the years he has travelled all around the world collecting and studing unique types of minerals. The Specola museum(the oldest science museum in the continent) founded in 1775. The natural historic museum of Florence where this special exhibition will take place until the 31 June 2012.
