Fratelli Alinari, established in Florence in 1852, is the world's oldest firm in the field of photography. The Alinari brothers created a photographic archive that has increased over the years to become the only one of its kind in the word. The "historical" sections, that is, the archives, the artistic prints, the pubblishing house and photo collection, were joined by the Museo di Storia della Fotografia Fratelli Alinari that includes the library on the history of photography and the photograph restoration shop that was created in conjunction with the Opificio delle Pietre Dure. In 2007, the Gruppo Il Sole 2004 Ore and Fratelli Alinari Ist. di Ed. Artistiche Spa established Alinari 24 Ore, an important example of synergy between the worlds of culture and business to enhance and protect this historic Florentine firm.
